McAfee granted approval to protect federal data under IRAP

The said approval has been offered to McAfee’s very own product, McAfee MVISION Cloud following which other products also got the authorization under the Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP).

The authorities of the program said that McAfee’s product has everything that is necessary for any product that offers cloud security. And it will not only protect the cloud data of the general audience but of the Australian central govt.

The Australian govt. has chosen McAfee to provide protection to its highly sensitive data which is quite a big responsibility on McAfee’s shoulders.

For the same purpose, it has been provided with a certificate stating that McAfee shall now be held responsible for taking care of the Australian government.

On this, McAfee is feeling proud as this has made it the first platform that will be offering cloud security at this greater level. The MVISION will be offering protection to the data across SaaS and PaaS platforms also known as software-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service respectively.

This means it can simply and more effectively can protect apps including Office 365, Box, G-Suite, and others. Moreover, Microsoft Azure Services as well as Google Cloud are also secured under this highly effective platform.

This directly hints that the Australian authorities have been started to apprehend the essentiality of investing in an effective cloud environment. Keeping that in mind, it has come to this essential decision to join hands with McAfee. This would help them in staying in line with the ongoing digitalization.

Apart from this, this agreement would benefit the federal authorities in such a way that they can easily protect the data that is under transition and moving in between the computing systems.

However, this doesn’t mean that it has been granted this approval for life long, but those who have been granted the approval post-McAfee need to seek IRAP’s approval every two years.
